ALDI was first launched in the China market in April 2017 through its cross-border e-commerce store on Tmall, bringing high quality products and a unique lifestyle to more customers worldwide. The first two stores in China will be positioned as pilot stores, where retail strategies will be trialed and tested, and adjusted according to data and feedback from our customers. This new ALDI format has been customized and tailored specifically for the China market to better understand and interact with Chinese consumers and enable ALDI to continue to strive to bring better grocery shopping experiences to the local community. The stores are designed by Landini Associates, the same team behind the “Concept Fresh” ALDI stores in Australia.

Both stores will offer an integrated online to offline retail experience to create a hassle-free shopping experience. In addition, the new ALDI WeChat mini-program will make online shopping even more convenient for customers as it offers its products online with instant delivery service within three kilometres around each store.

Bringing the world to your plates, products available at ALDI’s stores will include the popular and delicious beef and fresh milk imported directly from Australia. In addition, as a tribute to its German legacy, ALDI will also offer the German favourite pork knuckle with sauerkraut and roasted potato. Other products within the Ready-to-Eat category include the exciting fusion Sichuan style spicy crayfish salad and the Berliner Bao – German sausage with sauerkraut in a traditional Chinese steam bun.

To keep up with Chinese consumers’ dynamic lifestyles, ALDI will also offer delicious choices of ice cream imported from Australia as well as exclusive locally produced flavours such as black sesame and ginger with white chocolate. In addition, there will be plenty of ALDI’s all-time favourite – wine. Among the collection of wine offered at ALDI is the Maison De La Rougerie Bordeaux AOC, harvested from one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Génissac village in France. Similarly, on the theme of keeping with ALDI tradition, customers can enjoy the weekly “Super Savers”, a collection of fresh products with offered at great prices.

The majority of the products available at ALDI are exclusive brands, giving ALDI maximum control over the quality and safety of its products. Exclusively branded products sold at the ALDI stores are ‘Handpicked for You’ by experts to ensure that the products meet local needs. ALDI works hand-in-hand with long-time suppliers and partners all around the world to deliver the best value to its customers.

Chinese consumers can now purchase ALDI products on Tmall Global, Tmall Classic, through ALDI’s WeChat mini-program, and in its pilot stores.
