The people-powered lifestyle touches down in Germany as its global store roll out continues

As a digitally native business, the Axel Arigato stores disrupt the typical retail model and are designed specifically to forge real connections with customers, inviting them into a unique experience of the world of Axel Arigato.

Creative Director Max Svärdh translates his vision through a long-time collaborative studio and presents the newest retail design codes for the Munich Store.

Located steps away from Maximiliansplatz, a prime shopping area of the city, the 143 m2 space is the fifth standalone store to open its doors and will carry footwear, accessories, a curated selection of objects and an extensive ready-to-wear selection as the brand builds upon its clothing category.

“We already have a presence in Germany via several concessions in leading department stores, but this was an important milestone to reach in further establishing the brand in the German market – and offer a destination to get fully immersed into the Axel Arigato world”, says Max Svärdh, Co-Founder & Creative Director.

As a global brand with an incredibly strong ecommerce engine, expansion plans are often dictated by online audience growth. And over the last 12 months, Germany has continued to perform exceptionally well since the brand’s inception, acknowledged initially through pop ups at Kadewe Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus earlier this year, and now a dedicated home in Munich.

The store design codes are centred around minimalism, in keeping with the other 4 standalone locations, and offer an art gallery feel. Wavy metal display towers present the product in a playfully unexpected way and a central corridor connects to a rear gallery area.

The space utilises a monochromatic palette featuring soft yellow, the colour that feels close to the brand. First installed at the Paris flagship space, yellow travertine tables make an architectural statement again. This natural stone material is becoming synonymous with the brand’s stores, adding a sense of weight and naturalism to the interior.

A winding curved bench and stools were custom-made for the store from the Butter collection by artist Marco Campardo. The brand continues to seek out and engage with multidisciplinary artists to collaborate with on it’s stores as well as products.

A series of in-store events will commence after opening as curating experiences and connecting with local communities are key strands in Axel Arigato’s brand DNA. Axel Arigato will be opening its doors officially on Tuesday, November 9th – and will be programming onsite and offsite events throughout the month of November.
