Even small steps achieve a big effect

Customers want sustainable concepts from retailers and producers – from the goods to the shop fittings. Just “a good thing”. Many exhibitors at EuroShop 2020 have taken this to heart and are presenting their retail solutions with a sense of responsibility.

Sustainable packaging: the Liquid Dispenser from umdasch

Simply refill empty packaging in the shop? umdasch launched this idea with a freestanding dispenser solution and received numerous awards for this sustainable idea. The first bottle is bought, after that it can be filled again and again. Individually designable: the brand branding.

Made from renewable raw materials and as established as the retail industry itself: Baskets for the presentation of goods at the POS. Natural effect and practically sorted – always an eye-catcher in stable and therefore durable displays. Also sustainable in production: the company cooperates with the Misereor aid organisation.

New from old: Plastic for shop fitting by PyraSied Xtreme Acrylic BV

One hundred percent recycled acrylic glass becomes recycled plastic sheets. In shopfitting, these individually manufactured sheet materials, tubes and rods can create a very special look. Especially the transparent versions invite to fresh creations.

Digital check-out: an app to combat paper waste

All cash receipts are digitally stored here in an app. For the retailer and the customer this is an absolute added value – especially since the 2020 regulations for issuing receipts. All information is automatically sent to the smartphone – guarantees that expire are always in view.

Transparent environmental impact through the EPD award

SALTO’s XS4 electronic door handles do not require any wiring, providing the basis for versatile electronic access solutions with a wealth of functions. The narrow plate fittings are issued with the Environmental Product Declaration EPD from the German Institute Bauen und Umwelt (building and environment). This makes the environmental impact during manufacture, use and maintenance transparent.

RFID inlays : Less material

Checkpoint Systems’ new inlays are more sustainable: made from 70 percent recycled material, the Impinj chip size is reduced by 40 percent and material consumption by 18 percent. The new chips – Impinj M730 and Impinj M750 – also have the highest receiving sensitivity (-24 dBm) of all RAIN tag chips.

Light boxes and displays

Backlighting is used to set the stage for brand messages on steles, room dividers or light pillars. The design of the long-lasting products can be changed at any time. The Luminatore LED lighting systems generally save up to 80 percent of the conventional energy costs for comparable products and also have eco-certified textile prints.
